No Use Empty have supported the development in Swanscombe, Kent which involved the demolition and erection of 13 new homes at the former pub site known as ‘The Alma’.

The Kent home builders known as Alma House (Swanscombe) Ltd approached No Use Empty back in 2020 and received backing from Kent County Council. The development has also received positive feedback from Dartford Borough Council.

The former Alma Pub in 2018

The Alma Pub closed down in 2018 and was an eye sore to the local community, planning was granted by Dartford Borough Council on 18th January 2019 and works commenced shortly after.

No Use Empty’s  loan scheme which aims to bring derelict land back into use via interest-bearing loans enabled this project to come to fruition.

A number of positive outcomes have also been created from the NUE Treasury scheme such as the creation of jobs, homes, council tax receipts and local spend on materials.
