The No Use Empty Scheme has once again had an extremely busy year bringing empty properties back into use, whilst also creating new homes on vacant land. The team at No Use Empty had the pleasure of showing Kent County Council’s Paul King (Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Coastal Regeneration) and Jamie Henderson (Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Coastal Regeneration) around projects in Thanet.
The first visit of the day was to NUE’s largest new build scheme to date at Beerlings Farm, Ramsgate off Haine Road in Ramsgate which comprises of 17 new homes – a variety of detached bungalows, terraced and semi-detached homes. All dwellings at Beerlings Farm include integrated kitchen appliances, off street parking for two cars and an Advantage 10 Year Warranty.
The developers Pemberton Homes have worked with NUE on new build projects before as a developer or being contracted to deliver smaller projects for others across Kent offering a turnkey product that is ready to move into without additional hidden costs.

The final visit of the day was at St Gabriel’s, 44 Elm Grove, Westgate-On-Sea. The property is a former residential care facility which has planning for the change of use to 12 self-contained flats. There will be four one-bedroom flats and eight two-bedroom flats. The property is situated on a residential road in Westgate-On-Sea and is in a location which is close to local amenities.
The project is nearing completion and will be made available for rental purposes.
